Colegio Los Nogales

Challenge

Colegio Los Nogales is a private K-12 school located in the capital city of Colombia in Bogotá. As a highly transformative school with a mission to educate holistic individuals, global citizens, and ethical leaders, the visionary head of school Mr Camilo Camargo wanted to explore leveraging on the concept of Social Network Analysis (SNA) to understand social interactions amongst their students. They were unable to find any solution to meet their needs, despite using popular school management tools like PowerSchool.

Goal

Use our Social Network Analysis (SNA) tool within our Student Hub to provide a convenient and effective way for their teachers to conduct surveys and analyse friendship ties with automatic generation of socio-grams and reports.

Results

What started out as a pilot trial for grades 5 to 8 in Colegio Los Nogales transited to a full scale adoption and annual subscription of our Student Hub as students found it insightful to be able to have a complete picture of their wellbeing and holistic development.

For teachers and school leaders, they can now quickly gain a ‘holistic’ view of each and every student within the click of a few buttons and are able to accurately identify ”outliers” and “cliques” amongst students.

While the school gained valuable insights from Social Network Analysis (SNA), our system also provided research-backed recommendations such as group work student pairing allocation and seating arrangement changes based on the results. As the school continues using our  Student Hub, we will also continue to expand our existing offerings to meet their school’s unique needs as it continues to grow as well.
